Parking near Chase Center, past 99 Warriors Way, is priced by SFMTA
Parking near Chase Center beyond the arena’s garages means SFMTA property: metered blocks at $13/hour during special event hours, and three city garages charging $8 to $58, according to SFMTA, read September 2026. Metering stops at 10 pm, and two of those three garages lock up before midnight.

The agency is blunt about the alternative. On-site parking at Chase Center is extremely limited, in the words of the SFMTA Chase Center page, which strongly encourages guests to use public transportation and then names a single garage, Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage, under its Garage Parking heading.
Three evenings show the spread. Favorable, a car takes a metered block with no time limit after 6 pm and pays four event rate hours at $13/hour. Normal, it takes a city garage on the hourly table and stops at a 12 Hour Maximum of $24.00 to $38.00. Unfavorable, SFMTA applies the Special Event Rate that supersedes those tables and runs from $8 to $58.
| Where the car goes (read September 2026) | Hours printed by the issuer | Where those hours end |
|---|---|---|
| Special Event Area meters (SFMTA) | 9 am to 10 pm Monday to Saturday, 12 pm to 10 pm on special event Sundays | 10 pm, when metering stops |
| Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage, 833 Mission Street (SFMTA) | Open 24/7 | n/a: no closing time is printed |
| Moscone Center Garage, 255 3rd Street (SFMTA) | 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday to Sunday | 10:00 pm, with after hours access on Clementina Street |
| 16th & Hoff Garage, 42 Hoff Street (SFMTA) | 8:00 am to 10:30 pm, Monday to Sunday | 10:30 pm, with a phone line for assistance after closing |
| Event entry at Chase Center Garage, 99 Warriors Way (Chase Center) | From 2 hours before the event start | Midnight, when the garage closes |
Every price in those rows comes further down. The arena’s own gate sits in the last row as the yardstick, and its windows are worked through in the guide to the three windows at the Chase Center Garage.
What SFMTA closes, meters and enforces around 1 Warriors Way on an event day
Street closures come before any parking decision. On event days SFMTA closes 16th St and Warriors Way, both between 3rd St and Terry Francois Blvd, from 2 hours before until 1 hour after each event, read September 2026, and makes northbound Illinois St between Mariposa and 16th St local access only for the same window.
A second closure runs on a tighter clock. Northbound 3rd St between 16th St and Warriors Way closes from 30 minutes before until 45 minutes after each event, in SFMTA’s description, which takes the block closest to the arena out of play exactly when a late driver would be circling it.
For its part, Chase Center describes Warriors Way and 16th Street as one way westbound toward its garage entrances on event days. Neither issuer mentions the other’s arrangement, so a driver hunting for a meter should treat both streets as closed rather than as approach routes (Lot Opens reading, September 2026).
The metered blocks themselves are sorted on a map. A map SFMTA marks Revised March 4 2019 splits them three ways: special event rates during Oracle Park events only, during Oracle Park events and Chase Center events, and during Chase Center events only. The same map shows residential permit blocks enforced Monday to Saturday until 10 PM, every day until 10 PM, or Monday to Saturday until 9 PM.
One arena, three different curb rules within the same walk.
The $13 Mission Bay meter rate, and the two older SFMTA pages that still print $8 and $7
Meters on blocks within walking distance of Oracle Park and Chase Center are priced at $13/hour during special event hours as of July 1, 2026, according to the SFMTA special event parking regulations page, read September 2026. Those policies exist, in the agency’s own words, to discourage circling for free or cheap parking near the ballpark and arena.
The agency’s own Chase Center page, read the same week, prices the same curb differently. It says that during games and other major events with more than 10,000 expected attendees, parking meters close to the arena will charge a special event rate of $8 per hour.
A third SFMTA page goes lower. The Chase Event Center Parking project page, which the agency flags at the top as older content kept as a record of outreach, describes $7/hour special event rates starting an hour before events, alongside enforcement until 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 4-8pm on Sundays with events.
Three SFMTA pages, three rates. Only the regulations page carries an effective date, so that is the figure this guide uses, and the same page settles the argument itself: all event dates and times are subject to change, and drivers should always check the meter for current rates.
A small coincidence sits underneath the confusion. The $7 an hour on that retired SFMTA page is also what Chase Center charges per hour in the public window of its own garage, so two unrelated $7 rates circulate in the same few blocks (Lot Opens reading, September 2026).
Event rate hours follow the scheduled start time, not the Chase Center doors
Three bands of special event rate hours, each keyed to the event start time, appear on the SFMTA regulations page, read September 2026. The rate switches on at a clock hour fixed by the band rather than when the arena opens its doors, which is why a driver who plans around door times pays for hours when nobody is inside the building.
| Event start time (SFMTA, read September 2026) | Event rate hours in effect (SFMTA) | Example Chase Center start (Lot Opens calculation) | Event rate hours a car meets if it stays until metering stops (Lot Opens calculation) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily before 3 pm | Noon to 6 pm | 1:00 pm | 6 hours, noon to 6 pm |
| Daily between 3 pm and 6 pm | 3 pm to 10 pm | 5:30 pm | 7 hours, 3 pm to 10 pm |
| Daily after 6 pm | 6 pm to 10 pm | 7:30 pm | 4 hours, 6 pm to 10 pm |
The middle band is the expensive one. A 5:30 pm start pulls the rate on at 3 pm, so a car that arrives at 4:30 pm on a block with no time limit and leaves when metering stops meets five and a half event rate hours, which at $13/hour lands just under what Chase Center takes at its own gate (Lot Opens calculation, September 2026).
Doors run on a third clock. The arena schedules its doors to open 90 minutes before the start of each Warriors and Valkyries game, in the words Chase Center publishes, so on a 7:30 pm tip off the doors and the 6 pm meter band open within half an hour of each other, and on a 5:30 pm start the rate has been running for two and a half hours before anyone can go in (Lot Opens calculation, September 2026).
A dated list sits beside the bands. Effective Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the SFMTA schedule names each event date with its rate hours, and September 26 carries two rows: Chase 6 P.M. to 10 P.M. and Oracle Noon to 6 P.M. A block that takes event rates for both venues therefore charges them from noon until 10 pm on that one day (Lot Opens reading of the two rows, September 2026).
Three SFMTA garages on the T Third Street line, set beside the $75 gate at 99 Warriors Way
Each garage below is owned by SFMTA and joined to the arena by a Muni service that the event ticket already paid for. Both electronic and physical event tickets serve as proof of payment for Muni service throughout the day, excluding cable cars, according to SFMTA, read September 2026.
| Option (read September 2026) | Printed hourly table and cap | What overrides it on an event night | Muni leg, paid by the event ticket | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage (SFMTA) | $5.00 to $6.00 per hour, 12 Hour Maximum $38.00 | Special Event Rate $8 to $58, with a note that the event rate supersedes regular hourly rates | T Third Street from Union Square / Market Street Station or Yerba Buena/Moscone Station to UCSF/Chase Center | A car that has to stay past 10:30 pm |
| Moscone Center Garage (SFMTA) | $4.00 to $5.00 per hour, 12 Hour Maximum $29.00 | Special Event Rate $8 to $58, with the same supersedes note | T Third Street from Yerba Buena/Moscone Station to UCSF/Chase Center | A driver who wants a printed after hours exit |
| 16th & Hoff Garage (SFMTA) | $5.00 per hour at every hour of the day, 12 Hour Maximum $24.00 | Special Event Rate $8 to $58, printed without the supersedes note | 78X 16th Street Arena Express from 16th St. Mission BART, from 2.5 hours before until 1 hour after | The lowest printed cap on an early finish |
| Special Event Area meter (SFMTA) | $13/hour during event rate hours | n/a: the event rate is the rate | n/a: the blocks are within walking distance | A stay that starts at 6 pm or later on a block with no limit |
| Event entry at Chase Center Garage (Chase Center) | $75 on entry, additional to the accrued public rate | n/a: no override is published above it | n/a: the garage is at 99 Warriors Way | A party that will not use Muni at all |
The three garages are not interchangeable. Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage is the only one SFMTA names on its Chase Center page, it holds a 6 feet 8 inches height clearance and it is the only one listed as Open 24/7. At 255 3rd Street, Moscone Center Garage clears 6 feet 6 inches, lower than the arena’s own garage, and hands late drivers an entry on Clementina Street where a ticket number goes into a keypad.
16th & Hoff Garage is the small one, at 109 spaces, and it states that payment is required for all vehicles 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with a phone number to call for assistance after closing. All three print the same $8 to $58 Special Event Rate marked SFMTA staff review/approval required, and none of them says which events trigger it.
On event days the rail leg thickens. Event service runs along the Third Street railway about every 10 minutes in addition to normal T Third service, according to SFMTA, with head signs reading S Shuttle Mission Bay, serving all stops between Chinatown-Rose Pak Station and UCSF/Chase Center. The fare rule behind every row is set out in the Chase Center guide to arriving by Muni and Caltrain.
A 7:30 p.m. start, priced option by option, with a winner for each kind of evening
A 7:30 pm start at Chase Center falls in the SFMTA band that runs 6 pm to 10 pm. Four event rate hours at $13/hour come to $52 on a meter with no time limit, and on a four-hour block a car left at 5:30 pm hits its limit at 9:30 pm while enforcement carries on until 10 pm (Lot Opens calculation, September 2026).
The garage arithmetic runs the other way. At 16th & Hoff Garage, the first 78X for that start leaves 16th St. Mission BART at about 5:00 pm, and 5:00 pm to the 10:30 pm close is five and a half hours, which at $5.00 per hour passes the $24.00 cap, so the cap is the price whenever the event rate is not applied (Lot Opens calculation, September 2026).
The two downtown garages cannot be priced in advance at all. Their event rate supersedes the hourly table by SFMTA’s own note, and the published range runs from $8 to $58, so the same night can cost less than an hour of meter time or more than an evening of it.
- A game that ends early: 16th & Hoff Garage. It wins on the $24.00 12 Hour Maximum plus a 78X ride the event ticket already covered. Its weak points are the 10:30 pm close, a 78X that stops 1 hour after the event, and only 109 spaces to go around.
- A concert that runs late: Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage. It wins on being the only one listed Open 24/7, so the car is still reachable after the arena’s own garage has shut at midnight. The price can land anywhere between $8 and $58.
- A short evening that starts at 6 pm or later: a metered block with no posted limit. It wins on a ceiling of $52 for the four event rate hours (Lot Opens calculation, September 2026), and it is the only option that takes no Muni leg at all. Street closures remove the nearest blocks from the approach.
None of the three answers a car that is needed after midnight from a garage reached by rail. The T Third Street line ends at 12 a.m. on weekdays and weekends alike, according to SFMTA, after which the 91 3rd Street/19th Avenue Owl stops at 3rd St & Warriors Way (stop 17321) approximately every 30 minutes, a trade covered in the Chase Center exit guide.
December 25 sits on the SFMTA Chase Center list and off the SFMTA meter calendar
The SFMTA special event schedule effective September 15, 2026 lists December 25 as a Chase date with special event rate hours of 6 P.M. to 10 P.M., read September 2026. The agency’s parking meters page, read the same week, states that meters operate daily except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Both pages belong to SFMTA and only one of them can describe that evening. A meter that does not operate cannot charge a special event rate, so the rate hours printed against December 25 have no curb to land on unless the meter calendar changes (Lot Opens reading, September 2026).
The off-street options thin out on the same date. At 255 3rd Street the Moscone Center Garage page prints that the garage will be closed on Christmas Day, while Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage and 16th & Hoff Garage publish no Christmas exception beside their hours.
What remains for that night is the arena’s own gate at 99 Warriors Way and the Muni leg the ticket pays for. Holiday rail service is not something the SFMTA route page settles, because it prints spans of 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. at weekends rather than holiday timetables, so that part stays a page not read rather than a service that is running. Those are the arena’s published numbers: $7 per hour in the public window under a $35 daily maximum, and $75 on event entry from 2 hours before the start, according to Chase Center.
One date, two SFMTA answers, and the cheaper one disappears.
Placards, four-hour limits and how a Mission Bay meter takes payment
A properly displayed disabled placard allows parking in general metered parking zones without paying, and in blue zones, green zones, Residential Permit Parking areas and areas with posted time limits, according to SFMTA, read September 2026. The regulations page for Oracle Park and Chase Center states directly that placard rules apply at meters during Special Events.
The exclusions are where the citation comes from. A placard does not cover red zones, street cleaning hours, posted commercial or passenger loading hours, or posted commuter tow-away hours, and SFMTA tells placard holders to check for tow-away signs within 100 feet in both directions of a space.
Set against that, Chase Center publishes accessible parking at 150 Warriors Way as a limited number of spaces, first come first served, with the placard on display. For a placard holder who finds a legal metered block, the street wins on price, because SFMTA charges that driver nothing at the meter while the arena’s spaces run out by arrival order.
Payment on the street has its own rules. All parking meters in San Francisco accept coin, pay-by-phone and Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover cards, according to SFMTA, and the agency’s two mobile options, HotSpot and ParkMobile, carry a $0.35 convenience fee. Payments via QR codes are not accepted at any of the city’s parking meters, according to SFMTA.
Three further rules decide how long a stay can run. Prepayment begins at 4:30 a.m. at all meters every day except Port meters, refunds are not issued for any parking meter payment, and feeding the meter beyond the legal limit may result in a citation where time limits apply. Green meters carry either a 15 or a 30 minute limit and red and yellow meters are designated for commercial loading, so a space that looks open can be the wrong color of meter entirely.
Details on the SFMTA pages that change where a car ends up near Chase Center
- Trust the meter over a screenshot. One SFMTA page prices this curb at $8 per hour and another at $13/hour as of July 1, 2026, and the agency’s instruction is to always check the meter.
- Read the dated schedule before a two venue day. September 26 carries Oracle at Noon to 6 P.M. and Chase at 6 P.M. to 10 P.M., so a block priced for both venues charges event rates from noon straight through to 10 pm.
- Do not treat a Giants lot as a drive-up fallback, because those lots run on a pre-purchased reservation, as the Oracle Park parking guide explains.
- Widen the ring with two more Muni routes. The 48 Quintara and the 55 Dogpatch stop approximately four blocks from Chase Center, in SFMTA’s description, and the event ticket covers both.
- Check the roof before choosing the garage. The clearance at Moscone Center Garage is 6 feet 6 inches, lower than the 6 feet 8 inches at Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage and at 16th & Hoff Garage.
- Keep one all night route in mind. The 22 Fillmore stops at 3rd St & Warriors Way, stop 17324, and runs 24 hours daily, according to SFMTA.
- Do not plan a trip out to feed a meter. No re-entry is permitted during any Chase Center event, so a guest who leaves at 9:30 pm to move the car is not readmitted.
Misreadings that turn a Mission Bay space into a citation or a locked gate
- Reading the $8 per hour on the SFMTA Chase Center page as the current rate. The regulations page prices special event hours at $13/hour with an effective date on it.
- Expecting the event rate to start with the doors. It starts at noon, 3 pm or 6 pm depending on the band, while Warriors and Valkyries doors open 90 minutes before the start.
- Parking at 5:30 pm on a four-hour block for a 7:30 pm start. The limit expires at 9:30 pm and enforcement runs to 10 pm.
- Counting on 16th & Hoff Garage after a late finish. It closes at 10:30 pm and answers late drivers with a phone number rather than an exit procedure.
- Pricing an event night from a garage hourly table. All three SFMTA garages print a Special Event Rate of $8 to $58 that needs SFMTA staff review and approval.
- Aiming at 16th Street or Warriors Way to look for a space. Both are closed between 3rd St and Terry Francois Blvd from 2 hours before until 1 hour after the event.
- Riding to the wrong platform. The arena stop on the T Third Street line is UCSF/Chase Center (16th St), stop 17360 southbound and stop 17357 northbound, while the platform beside 255 3rd Street and 833 Mission Street is Yerba Buena/Moscone Station, stop 17873 southbound and stop 17878 northbound, according to SFMTA.
What SFMTA and Chase Center leave unpublished about parking beyond the arena
These gaps come from the pages read in September 2026, and each is written as missing rather than filled in from a parking marketplace.
- A walking time from any of the three SFMTA garages to its Muni stop, or from the stop to the arena doors.
- Which Special Event Area blocks carry four-hour limits and which carry none. On that point the agency sends the driver to the meter itself.
- Which events trigger the $8 to $58 garage rate, and where a Chase Center night lands inside that range.
- Whether meters near the arena operate on December 25, given that one SFMTA page schedules event rate hours and another excludes Christmas Day.
- The ordinary meter rate on those blocks outside event rate hours, which sits on an SFMTA demand-responsive pricing map not read for this guide.
- A walking time between Yerba Buena/Moscone Station and either 833 Mission Street or 255 3rd Street, which is the leg that decides whether a downtown garage beats a meter on the street.
Where each Mission Bay parking figure was read
Meter rates, the three start time bands, the Sunday hours and the time limit rule come from the SFMTA Oracle Park and Chase Center Special Event Parking Regulations page. The dated event list comes from the SFMTA special event schedule effective September 15, 2026, the metered and permit block categories from the SFMTA special event map revised March 4 2019, and the closures, the $8 figure, the taxi stand and the 48 and 55 routes from the SFMTA Chase Center page.
Garage hours, rate tables and event rates come from the three SFMTA garage pages for Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena, Moscone Center and 16th & Hoff. Placard rules come from the SFMTA disabled placard page, meter payment rules and the holiday exception from the SFMTA parking meters page, and stop names and service spans from the T Third Street route page. The arena’s own parking and transportation documents, read through its content API, carried every Chase Center figure above.
The figures in this guide were verified in September 2026 against the sources named in each section. Meter rates and garage tables change by legislation, event rate hours change with each published schedule, and garage hours change on holidays; check the issuer’s page before you travel.
Questions drivers ask about parking around Chase Center rather than inside it
The answers below come from SFMTA parking, garage and route pages and from the Chase Center parking and transportation documents, all read in September 2026.
Yes, on SFMTA metered blocks within walking distance of Chase Center and Oracle Park, read September 2026. Those meters run from 9 am to 10 pm Monday to Saturday, from 12 pm to 10 pm on special event Sundays, and charge $13/hour during special event hours.
The hours are keyed to the event start time, according to SFMTA, read September 2026. A start before 3 pm puts the rate in effect from noon to 6 pm, a start between 3 pm and 6 pm from 3 pm to 10 pm, and a start after 6 pm from 6 pm to 10 pm.
The SFMTA Chase Center page describes a special event rate of $8 per hour, read September 2026, while the SFMTA special event parking regulations page prices meters at $13/hour as of July 1, 2026. Only the second carries an effective date, and SFMTA tells drivers to always check the meter.
Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage at 833 Mission Street is listed as Open 24/7, read September 2026, and it is the only garage SFMTA names under Garage Parking on its Chase Center page. Moscone Center Garage closes at 10:00 pm and 16th & Hoff Garage at 10:30 pm.
The lowest printed cap nearby is the $24.00 12 Hour Maximum at 16th & Hoff Garage, read September 2026, though its table also lists a Special Event Rate of $8 to $58. That garage closes at 10:30 pm, and the 78X links 16th St. Mission BART to the arena from 2.5 hours before until 1 hour after.
December 25 appears on the SFMTA special event schedule as a Chase Center date with rate hours of 6 P.M. to 10 P.M., read September 2026. Its parking meters page states that meters operate daily except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and Moscone Center Garage, otherwise open 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, closes.
Off-site parking near Chase Center is bought against a 10 pm clock
Every option beyond 99 Warriors Way carries a printed hour earlier than the arena’s own midnight: metering stops at 10 pm, Moscone Center Garage at 10:00 pm and 16th & Hoff Garage at 10:30 pm, read September 2026.
That puts the weight on a number Chase Center never prints, which is when the event actually finishes. A 7:30 pm start billed as four event rate hours at $13/hour ends inside the meter window, and a show that runs past 11 pm does not (Lot Opens calculation, September 2026). The saving holds or evaporates on that one unpublished figure.
An early finish belongs to the garage on 16th Street. A long encore belongs to the one garage with no closing time at all.
